Lyon College played John Brown University on September 7th at JBU. Lyon and JBU were 3-0 on the year headed into the match, JBU was ranked 20th in the NAIA national poll. JBU scored first in the 43rd minute when Steven Aparicio gathered a deflected shot in front of the Lyon goal and put it past Lyon keeper, Brent Hugg. The first 30 minutes of the second half went the Scots way as they had several chances to score, but only scored once to tie the game 1-1. Jeremy Bobo scored the goal in the 62nd minute off a cross from Tim Akin. Then in the last 12 minutes of the game things fell apart for the Scots, and JBU scored in the 78th, 84th, and 88th minute. Two of those goals were scored off of rebounds and missed clears in front of the Scots goal and the other on a penalty kick. The Scots played a hard fought match and deserved a much better result than a 4-1 loss.
