Piper's Golf Team Conference Champs

 

The Lyon College Pipers golf team won the TranSouth Conference Championship as well as the Region XI Championship on April 23rd, 2004, at the Henry Horton Golf Course in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.  This is the third year in a row that the Pipers have won the conference championship.  The ladies shot a two day total of 649 (331-318).  The second place team, Berry College, shot a two day total of 664 (337-327). 

Adriane Barnett of Lyon finished as the medalist of the tournament by shooting a two day total of 150 (76-74).  Barnett was also named All-Conference and All-Region for her efforts.  Joining Barnett on the All-Conference and All-Region teams was Chelsea Gilliam (82-80-162) and Julie Church (84-79-163).  Also for Lyon, Jennifer Cross shot 89-85 for a two day total of 174 and Leslie Bragg shot 97-87 for a two day total of 184. 

Piper golf coach Brian Krug was awarded conference and region coach of the year honors. 

The Pipers will now travel to Daytona Beach, Florida at the end of May to compete in the NAIA National Golf Tournament.
