"In the summer of 2007, I participated in a field school in New Mexico.  It was really exciting.  I met new, interesting people from all over the United States.  Plus, I was able to learn Archaeological techniques which will help me in the future.  A field school is a great way to get experience in Archaeology, and it is an even better way to determine if the life of an Archaeologist is right for you.  That summer was probably the best summer I have ever had.  You find that you want to keep digging; you want the days to last longer.  And every time you find something, your heart starts beating faster and louder, all the while you keep digging, wondering 'what will I find next?'  You get to clean the artifacts that you find and then try to determine the time period they came from.  It really is a great experience.  I would encourage everyone to participate in at least one field school in their lifetime." Christine Font, 2008.

"This is the awl that I found while excavating in New Mexico.  It was really a special day, because no one had found any modified bones, except me!" Christine Font, 2008.
