The Lyon College
Parents Association, whose membership includes both parents of current and
former students, strives to enhance the awareness of parents and promote their
active involvement in the life of Lyon College.
The Parents Council guides the
Association and functions as a representative body of the parents as a whole and
as a focus group in planning and directing the work of the Association with the
College.
The Council serves
the College in various advisory and supportive roles and seeks to foster a sense
of community among parents; to facilitate communication between parents and the
College; and to enlist parent participation in various efforts serving the goals
of the College. The Council endeavors to provide an opportunity for parents to
contribute their time, expertise, and support in fulfilling the mission of the
College.
In short, save alumni, no one knows
Lyon better and has a stronger connection than that of our parents.
Parents will always be a member of the Lyon "extended family." This is why
we encourage any parent with an interest in serving on the Parents Council to
let us know by contacting Donald Taylor, Director of Alumni & Parent Services.
He may be reached at 870-698-4240 or by email at
dtaylor@lyon.edu.
