It’s
my pleasure to welcome you to Lyon College and to our
Lyon community! Our community is one of respect, honor,
learning, and, of course, fun. I am privileged to be not
only the Acting Director of Alumni and Parent Services,
but also the wife of Lyon College President Walter
Roettger. Therefore, I believe that I am in a pretty
good position to help you as you prepare to send your
student into our care.
From
a distance, it’s sometimes difficult for parents to know
who to contact when they have questions. That’s why the
Office of Parent Services was created. We can help
facilitate your questions regarding life at Lyon. For
example, we can:
advise you on the functions of various College
offices;
assist you with explanations of College policies and
procedures, academic advising, financial aid, dining
service, etc.
help you with connections to appropriate
administrative faculty and staff to expedite your
questions or concerns;
provide information about campus events and programs
(Matriculation, sporting events, weekend activities,
etc.).
I urge you to make your
hotel reservations now for Red Carpet Days
as the local speedway will be hosting its most popular
race of the season, attracting fans from several states.
The schedule for Red Carpet Days is on the first page of
our web site, www.lyon.edu, and contains all sorts of
great information for your and your student.
I
look forward to personally welcoming you to our Lyon
College campus and hope to meet you and your student at
Bradley Manor (our home) on Friday, August 17, from 5 –
6 p.m. In the interim, should you have any question—big
or small—do give me a call at 870-698-4238 or email me
