Individualized Majors

Students may develop an individualized major in consultation with a member of the Lyon faculty.  The major must have the approval of the student’s academic adviser, a divisional chairperson, and the dean of the faculty.  The proposed major should be comparable in total hours and combination of lower and upper level courses to other majors offered by the College.  Courses composing the major may come from a single discipline or from multiple disciplines.  Coherence of the proposed program in terms of the intellectual and professional interests of the student will also be considered in the approval process.

Individualized majors approved in recent years include art history, biochemistry, international politics, French, and German.
