The Individualized Major

Lyon allows students to develop an individualized major with the approval of their advisor, the division chair and the Dean of the Faculty, as indicated in the Lyon College Catalog. Students regularly obtain an individualized major in French by taking courses both at Lyon and in Poitiers. Because this individualized major requires approval and is contingent on study abroad, it is recommended (though not required) that students plan to take a double major in French and another subject matter to assure that they are prepared for all contingencies. French makes an excellent second major, enhancing many other areas of study. For more information on the individualized major, see Dr. Catherine Bordeau.
