Choose Children:

Choose Children is not an organization - it's an idea. Alpha Xi Delta gives members the flexibility to look in their communities and decide how they can best benefit children. For some chapters it's raising money for a local organization; for others it's spending time tutoring children at an after-school program or working with children at a battered women's shelter.

PHILANTHROPY

Alpha Xi Delta's Philanthropy Mission:

Alpha Xi Delta believes in the dignity of the individual child.  Children deserve the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential- intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically- in an environment conductive to the development of character, personal responsibility, good citizenship, and a sense of well-being.  Individually and collectively, Alpha Xi Delta members and chapters support organizations that nurture the child.

2005-2006 Events for the Zeta Iota Chapter:

This year, the Zeta Iota chapter has participated and organized many events to benefit the lives of many children locally and nationally through Choose Children. We have organized the first annual charity golf tournament to,” Drive out Child Abuse.” This event helped to raise over $700 to benefit CASA as well as Choose Children. We also participated in the Lyon College service day which allowed our sisters to get their hands dirty and service the Batesville community. Other events that will be held include the second annual Easter egg hunt held on campus at Lyon College which invites local youth to participate in the hunt, as well as participation in Scottish Fest.
