JACKSON,
Tenn. -- Caitlin Zimmerman scored a hat trick to lead
the Union University Lady Bulldogs to a 5-0 rout of the
Lyon College Pipers Tuesday in the Pipers' TranSouth
Conference opener.
Zimmerman
scored three goals -- two just five minutes apart in the
first half and another in the 73rd minute of the second
half -- and teammates Nikki Burau and Abigail Williams
pitched in a goal apiece to spark Union.
Lyon
(3-4-1 overall, 0-1 in the TranSouth) was shutout on
offense for the third time this season. Union improves
to 4-3 and 2-1.
Rita Brown played all
90 minutes in goal and notched two saves.
