CONWAY,
Ark. -- Lyon College's women's soccer team closed the
preseason with a 5-0 shutout loss to the NCAA Division I
Bears of the University of Central Arkansas on Tuesday
evening in a scrimmage game at Farris Field.
UCA outshot the Pipers
31-9 overall and held a 12-2 edge in shots on goal.
Lyon goal keepers,
freshman Erica Cox and junior Rita Brown, accounted for
six saves. Cox saved shots on goal and allowed three to
reach the back of the net in 45 minutes of play. Brown
saved two shots and allowed two goals in 45 minutes.
Bears'
freshman Brittney Warren scored two goals and Kelsey
Weisgram, Ashley Line and Randi Condley accounted for
the remaining scores.
The Pipers open
regular-season play at home on Friday at 3:30 p.m. when
they take on the Central Baptist College Mustangs at
Lyon College Soccer Field.
