Another offensive
outburst and a defensive lock-down, paced the Lyon
College Pipers to a 4-0 triumph over the Freed-Hardeman
Lady Lions Tuesday in a TranSouth Conference game at
Lyon College Soccer Field.
Kristen Grant scored two
goals in the first half to put Lyon up 2-0 at the break.
Sarah Poncher scored her third goal in two games to send
Lyon to a 3-0 advantage and Kayla Bell finished the Lady
Lions off with a shot on a Jessica Baker pass for the
fourth and final goal of the game.
Stephanie Henderson
(6-1-0) made two goal-keeper saves for her third shutout
victory of the season, which is also a new single-season
school record. The old mark of two was held by Amanda
Fore, who set the mark twice -- once in 2004 and again
in 2005. Fore is currently a student assistant coach on
the women's squad.
The Pipers victory
propelled the team to 6-1 overall and kept the
team unbeaten in TranSouth with a 3-0 record.
