MAYFIELD, Ky. -- From tip to final buzzer, the Lyon
College Pipers dominated the Mid Continent Lady Cougars
Saturday in an 86-48 TranSouth Conference victory.
Lyon forwards Maribeth Waters (of Greers Ferry, Ark.),
and K.K. Hodges (Wynne, Ark.), each notched a
game-high 18 points.
Three other Pipers added double-digit scoring days, led
by April Carter (Farmington, Ark.), who poured in 17
points and shot 5 of 7 from the 3-point arc. Snezana
Jovanovic added 11 points and six rebounds. Guard Hollye
Jernigen pitched in 10 points and five steals.
The Pipers shot 33 of 69 (47 percent) from the field and
11 of 23 from the arc. Mid Continent hit just 39 percent
from the field.
Lyon (11-4 overall, 2-2 in TranSouth play) is off to its
best start in eight seasons, has won seven of its last
10 games and has been triumphant in two consecutive
TranSouth contests.
