McKENZIE, Tenn. -- LeAnna Peerson made a pair of free
throws and Snezana Jovanovic added one free throw over
the final :20 of overtime to give the Lyon College
Pipers a 74-72 victory over the Bethel College Lady
Wildcats Saturday in TranSouth Conference play.
Lyon
(18-10 overall , 8-8 in the TranSouth) wins its fourth
straight game and its third consecutive TranSouth
contest. The Pipers currently sit alone in fifth place
in the league, three games behind fourth-place Trevecca
Nazarene in the loss column.
Bethel
drops to 12-15 and 7-9.
Lyon
freshman K.K. Hodges led all scorers with 29 points and
nine rebounds. The freshman hit 11 of 19 shot from the
field and made 7 of 12 free throws.
Pipers'
junior Maribeth Waters earned 11 points and nine
rebounds. Jovanovic and April Carter added 12 points
apiece.
