A woeful shooting night from floor to arc to charity
stripe doomed the Lyon College Pipers in a 66-57 loss to
the Bethel College Lady Wildcats Monday evening in
TranSouth Conference play.
Lyon (13-6 overall, 4-4 in league play) shot just 34
percent from the field on 23 of 68 shooting, hit on 37
percent of its 3-point shots and scored a 44 percent
tally from the free-throw line in the loss.
Bethel (9-10, 4-4) managed to get 17 points and 16
rebounds from Nina Djokovic and 17 more points from
Tristan Johnson. Erin Meyer added 13 points and six
rebounds.
Snezana Jovanovic sparked the Pipers with a game-high 18
points. The Austrian also pulled down a team-high seven
rebounds and had six steals.
Lyon forward K.K. Hodges added 11 points and six boards,
while teammate April Carter pitched in an additional 11
points.
