Lyon picks up road
conference win at
Blue Mountain
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss.
– Senior April Carter hit her 200th career 3-pointer and
freshman K.K.
Hodges notched a career-high in points in a 73-59
triumph over the Blue Mountain Toppers Thursday evening
in a TranSouth Conference road game.
Lyon College improves to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in league
play. Blue Mountain drops to 5-12 and 1-5.
Hodges collected a double-double of a career-high 29
points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Pipers.
The Wynne, Ark. product's game-high point total topped
her previous high of 24 on Dec. 28, 2007, against
Columbia (Mo.) College.
Hodges' 11 rebounds matched a
career-high, set two times previous -- once on Dec. 14,
2007, vs. Central Baptist and again against Martin
Methodist on Jan. 5 of this year. It was also her second
double-double of the season.
Carter scored 19 points, grabbed six boards and sank
five 3-point shots. Her first trey of the game gave the
senior 200 3-pointers for her career. Her career total
settles at 204, just five behind Lyon all-time
school-leader Brandi Love (1990-94).
Snezana Jovanovic added eight points for the Pipers.
The Pipers led 37-26 at the half and shot 54 percent (26
of 48) from the field in the game.
