LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --
Laura Throesch's layup with :06 remaining in the game
provided the game-winner in the Lyon College Pipers'
60-58 victory over Philander Smith Monday in a
nonconference road contest.
Philander Smith had a
shot at tying the game with :01.4 left, but missed two
free throws.
Lyon (4-1) got a
team-high 13 points from freshman forward K.K. Hodges.
Guards April Carter and Snezana Jovanovic pitched in 11
points each and Throesch had 10.
The Pipers' win avenged a
64-63 last-second loss to Philander Smith back on Nov. 8
at Becknell Gymnasium.
