BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Five
Lyon College Pipers scored in double figures to help
secure a 69-66 victory over the Columbia (Mo.) College
Cougars Saturday at Becknell Gym.
Maribeth Waters led the
Pipers with 14 points and eight rebounds. Waters hit 6
of 10 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free-throw
line.
Piper forward K.K. Hodges
added 13 points and five boards. Snezana Jovanovic had
11 points and Laura Throesch pitched in 10 points and
six rebounds. Hollye Jernigen filled out the Lyon
players scoring in double digits with 10 points.
Columbia's Whitney Davis
led all scorers with 20 points on 7 of 13 from the
field, 3 of 4 from the line and 3 of 5 from 3-point
range.
Lyon improves to 3-1 this
season and wins its second straight. Columbia College
falls to 3-3.
