BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The
Lyon College Pipers forced 35 turnovers and five Pipers
picked up a double-digit scoring night in a 100-34 rout
of the Baptist Bible College Lady Patriots Saturday
evening in nonconference play at Becknell Gym.
Pipers'
forward K.K. Hodges led all scorers with 17 points,
pulled down eight rebounds and had four steals. Hodges
sparkled on the court, shooting 6 of 8 from the field
and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Laura
Throesch added 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting and had two
blocks and four steals. LeAnna Peerson had 13 points and
Maribeth Waters and April Carter had 11 each in Lyon's
first game of the season.
Waters
earned a game-high nine rebounds and Hollye Jernigen
dished out a team-high five of the team's 20 assists.
As a team, Lyon shot
39 of 85 from the field for a 45.9 percent clip. Baptist
Bible was just 14 of 42 for 33.3 percent.
The Pipers
outrebounded BBC 47-30 and hit on 14 of 24 free-throw
attempts.
It was a rough night
for Lady Pats' ballhandlers as twenty nine of the Lady
Patriots 35 turnovers were on steals by the Pipers,
including a game-high six from Snezana Jovanovic.
