BATESVILLE, Ark. – Lyon College junior volleyball player Leah Eifling received a $2000 scholarship for serving as a NAIA Regional Red Cross ambassador during the 2007-08 school year.

Eifling was one of 11 NAIA student athletes selected nationwide to participate in this pilot program.

She spent two weeks at the Red Cross National Headquarters in June to receive training and mentoring to prepare her to serve on their blood region boards and to serve as Red Cross ambassadors on the Lyon College campus and in her community.

During the school year, Eifling will champion the importance of donating blood to increase overall donations on her campus.

Eifling is from North Little Rock, Ark., and is expecting to graduate in 2009 with a degree in biology.
