BATESVILLE, Ark. –
Senior outside hitter Daria Paunovic sparked the Lyon
College Pipers to a 3-2 victory over Lambuth University
Friday in the loser's bracket of the TranSouth
Conference Tournament at Becknell Gym.
Paunovic scored a game-high 18 kills and had 17 digs to
go with five service aces in the 23-30, 30-25, 29-31,
30-18, 15-10 five-game thriller.
Lyon (19-12) matches a school record with its 19th win
of the season. The Pipers play Saturday in the
tournament at 10 a.m. against No. 3 seed Trevecca
Nazarene.
Lambuth ends the year at 13-20 overall.
Piper sophomore Lauren Castleberry tied for the
game-high lead in kills with 18 and notched seven digs.
Lyon teammate Katie Beineke picked up 14 kills and
earned two solo blocks.
Junior libero Ann Sullivan paced the Pipers in digs with
25 and senior Jessica Sylvester had a team-high 30
assists. Leah Eifling earned 11 digs and Julie Arnold
dished out 22 assists.
