MAYFIELD, Ky. -- Junior Ann Sullivan of Jonesboro scored
eight kills and 11 digs and freshman Ashley Daniel of
Memphis, Tenn., added 10 kills and four aces to lead the
Lyon College Pipers to their second consecutive 3-0
sweep of a TranSouth Conference foe.
Saturday,
the victim was Mid-Continent University in straight
games (30-13, 30-23 and 30-19), following a 3-0 sweep of
Bethel College on Friday.
Lyon runs its record to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in the
TranSouth. Mid-Continent falls to 2-9 and 2-7.
Piper freshman Heather Gottfried added five kills and an
ace while Julie Arnold pitched in 20 assists, 10 digs
and an ace.
Lyon's Jessica Sylvester earned 18 assists while
teammates Daria Paunovic and Lauren Castleberry of Bono,
Ark. had three aces apiece.
