– The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions brought the Lyon College
Pipers' four-game TranSouth Conference victory string to
a halt with a 3-1 decision on Tuesday in league play.
Freed-Hardeman moved to 26-3 overall and 16-1 in the
TranSouth double round robin with the 30-18, 22-30,
30-14, 30-24 win. Lyon falls to 16-11 and 10-6.
The Pipers played great defense on the road, led by
libero Ann Sullivan, who notched a team-high 40 digs.
Lauren Castleberry added 22 digs, four aces and eight
kills.
Lyon middle blocker Katie Beineke notched a team-high 19
kills and four solo blocks. Daria Paunovic earned 11
kills and three aces.
