Lyon College wins
fourth consecutive

BATESVILLE, Ark.

Four Lyon College players notched double-digit kills to
help the Pipers to a 3-2 win over Cumberland University
in TranSouth Conference play on Saturday at Becknell Gym.
The Pipers (16-10 overall and 10-5 in TranSouth play)
won for the fourth straight time against a league foe.
Lyon remains in fourth place in the conference race, a
half game behind third-place Trevecca Nazarene.
Daria Paunovic, Lauren Castleberry, Katie Beineke and
Meghann Laborn each earned double digit kills during the
30-17, 30-23, 24-30, 26-30 (16-14) squeaker.
Castleberry led the quartet with 24 kills and 12 digs.
Paunovic had yet another balanced stat line with 21
kills, 12 digs, three solo blocks and four aces.
Beineke, in her first game back from an illness, had 11
kills, three solo blocks and one assisted block. Laborn
rounded out the group of four with 10 kills.
Lyon setter Jessica Sylvester dished a team-high 34
assists and Ann Sullivan collected 19 digs to pace the
Pipers.
