The Lyon College Pipers notched their second straight
sweep in a 30-13, 30-18, 30-18 win over the Crichton
College Lady Comets in both teams' TranSouth Conference
regular-season finale.
Lyon (18-11 overall, 12-6 in TranSouth action) finishes
the regular season tied with Union for fourth place in
the conference. Union and Lyon are scheduled to meet in
the first round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament
on Friday at 11 a.m. in Batesville.
Head coach Justin Dee's Pipers notched 24 aces led by
six from senior outside hitter Daria Paunovic. The
senior also had a team-high 15 kills.
Piper sopomore outside hitter Lauren Castleberry earned
10 kills, six digs and five aces. Teammate Leah Eifling
had four aces. Ann Sullivan picked up eight kills and
Jessica Sylvester had a team-best 19 assists. Julie
Arnold was the top Piper in the dig column with seven.
