McKENZIE, Tenn. -- Senior outside hitter Daria Paunovic
took sole possession of Lyon College's career kills
record in the Pipers' 3-0 (30-27, 30-27 and 30-26) win
over the Bethel College Lady Wildcats Friday in
TranSouth Conference play.
Paunovic, who prior to the game was in a tie with former
Piper Ceca Brckalo on the all-time kills list, earned
sole possession of the record with a
game-high 18 kills. Paunovic also earned 23 digs in the
contest.
Lauren Castleberry of Bono, Ark., and Meghann LaBorn of
Fort Smith, Ark., each had 13 kills apiece to help fuel
the Pipers' attack. LaBorn also had three solo blocks
while teammate Katie Beineke of Jonesboro, Ark. earned
two solo blocks and three assisted blocks.
Pipers' setter Julie Arnold earned a team-high 26
assists and three service aces.
Lyon
improves to 8-7 on the season and 4-3 in the TranSouth.
Bethel College falls to 6-9 and 3-4.
