Powered by Sarah Von Lienen and Racheal Urquhart, the
Arkansas Tech Golden Suns swept the Lyon College Pipers
in a three-game match -- 30-19, 30-17 and 30-25 --
Tuesday evening at Tucker Arena.
Urquhart notched a
match-high 11 kills and Von Lienen added 10 more for ATU,
who improves to 6-2 this season. Two other Golden Suns
-- Dana Florian and Ashlynn Hamrick -- had nine kills
apiece.
Lyon (3-2) was led in
kills by sophomores Lauren Castleberry and Katie Beineke,
who had nine, respectively. Daria Paunovic and Meghann
LaBorn had six kills each.
Piper setter Jessica
Sylvester earned 18 assists and Ann Sullivan had 10
digs.
The ATU victory marks the
third straight season the Golden Suns have triumphed
over the Pipers.
