PULASKI, Tenn. -- Save
for only one game in a four-set match, the Martin
Methodist Lady Redhawks had little trouble dispatching
the Lyon College Pipers 3-1 in a TranSouth Conference
meeting Thursday at Pulaski, Tenn.
Martin Methodist won the
first game 30-19, dropped the second game 30-28, then
rolled to take two straight 30-13 and 30-17.
Lyon falls to 11-5
overall and 3-2 in the TranSouth Conference. Martin
Methodist, who fell out of the NAIA’s Top 25 this week
after spending a week at No. 24, moves to 12-5 and 5-1.
Piper outside hitter
Daria Paunovic recorded 11 kills and 14 digs in defeat.
Freshman Lyon middle blocker Katie Beineke of Jonesboro
had seven kills and three blocks. Lauren Castleberry of
Bono had seven kills and Ann Sullivan of Jonesboro
picked up 21 digs.
