JACKSON, Tenn. –
The Lambuth Lady Eagles edged the Lyon College Pipers,
3-2, in a TranSouth match Tuesday at Jackson, Tenn.
Lyon opened up the match
with a 30-23 win, but fell in the next two games 30-28
and 30-26. The Pipers rallied to take the fourth set
32-30, but lost in the final game 15-13.
Junior outside hitter
Daria Paunovic led the Pipers with 16 kills. Lyon senior
Alison Sablick had nine kills and teammate Lauren
Castleberry had eight.
Lambuth improves to 13-7
on the season and 4-2 in league play. Lyon falls to 13-6
and 5-3.
The Pipers return home on
Friday to host TranSouth foe Cumberland for a 5 p.m.
match.
