BATESVILLE -- Junior
outside hitter Daria Paunovic had 19 kills and three
aces while teammates Katie Beineke of Jonesboro and
Lauren Castleberry of Bono added 12 kills each in the
Lyon College Pipers’ 3-1 match victory over the
Cumberland Lady Bulldogs in TranSouth Conference
volleyball play at Becknell Gymnasium.
The Pipers improve to
14-6 overall and 6-3 in the TranSouth. Cumberland drops
to 9-11 and 2-7.
Lyon won the first game
30-28, lost the second 30-28 and rallied to drop the
hammer on the Lady Bulldogs via 30-20 and 30-24
victories, respectively, in the next two sets.
Senior Alyson Boone had
10 kills, Jessica Sylvester added 29 assists and Ann
Sullivan of Jonesboro had 19 digs.
