MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The
Lyon Pipers saw neither trick nor a treat on Halloween
night, losing a 3-0 sweep to Christian Brothers Tuesday
on the road in a nonconference match.
Christian Brothers
rocketed to a 30-13 victory in the first game, battled
Lyon to a 30-28 win in the second and closed out the
match with a 30-21 third set.
Freshman middle blocker
Katie Beineke led the Pipers in kills with 10. Junior
Lyon teammate Daria Paunovic had seven kills, 14 digs
and three aces.
Lauren Castleberry added
eight kills and Alyson Boone pitched in seven for Lyon.
Libero Ann Sullivan paced the Pipers with 18 digs and
Jessica Sylvester had a team-high 25 assists.
Lyon falls to 16-10 this
season and returns to TranSouth Conference play on
Thursday at Freed-Hardeman.
