MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Matt
Callaway and Dustin Horton combined for a shutout in
goal and the Lyon College Scots accounted for two goals
in a 2-0 blanking of the Crichton Comets Tuesday in a
TranSouth Conference soccer match.
Callaway (1-2-1) had two
saves and picked up the win for the Scots while fellow
goalkeeper Horton had two saves. The shutout was the
second of the year for Lyon College. The Scots also
notched a 2-0 shutout win over Central Arkansas Baptist
on Aug 29.
Sophomore Nick Ford
scored first for the Scots in the 28th minute
on an assist from senior Nick Jones for a 1-0 lead. Lyon
added another goal in the 90th minute from
Mesquite, Tex., freshman Greg Buford. The goal was
assisted by Scots’ senior Steve Banks.
Lyon College improves to
3-2-1 overall and stands at 1-0 in the league.
