LEBANON, Tenn. -- The Lyon College Scots
allowed four goals in the first half and a season-high
six overall, resulting in a 6-2 loss to the Cumberland
University Bulldogs on Friday in TranSouth Conference
play.
Lyon fell behind 4-0 on goals from
Cumberland’s Stephen Hill and one goal each from Diego
Dias and Jeppe Jacobson.
Freshman Greg Buford, currently the
Scots’ leading goal scorer, rallied the troops to score
his fourth and fifth goals of the season in the second
half to close the gap, but the early chasm of the
Bulldog’s productive first half had become too wide to
cross. Cumberland added two more goals to during that
same span, putting the game effectively on ice.
Scots goal keeper Matt Callaway played
the first half and took the loss, allowing four goals
while saving two shots. Dustin Horton played the
remainder of the game, giving up two goals while saving
four shots.
Lyon drops to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2 in
the conference. Cumberland improves to 4-3 and 2-1.
