Cold shooting half
freezes Lyon College in
69-54 loss to MCU
BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The Lyon College Scots were frigid
from the field in the second half of a 69-54 loss to the
Mid-Continent Cougars Thursday in TranSouth Conference
play.
Lyon
(10-15 overall, 4-11 in league play) scored on 9 of 18
shots (50 percent) from the field in the first half, but
went into the deep freeze in the second. The Scots shot
just 24 percent after the break, scoring on 7 of 29
attempts from field-goal range.
Meanwhile, the Cougars scored on 27 of 58 attempts in
the game for a 46.6 percent clip.
Levi
Taylor sparked the Scots with 16 points and 10 rebounds
and preston Butts added 10 points.
The loss
was the Scots' seventh in their last eight conference
games.
The
Cougars were led by Al Magwood with 16 points and Mario
Stafford with 15 points. Mid-Continent improves to 9-18
and 4-11 in conference play.
