BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Jonathan Donaldson and Levi Taylor
both accounted for a team-high 24 points but the Lyon
College Scots couldn't overcome the NAIA's No. 9 Lambuth
Eagles during a 90-80 loss Thursday evening in TranSouth Conference action.
Taylor shot 8 of 14 from the field, 3 of 4 from the
3-point line and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Donaldson accounted for an 8 of 15 night from the floor.
Preston Butts was the only other Scot scoring in double
figures with 10 points.
With
his team-high total, Taylor now has 1,126 career points,
moving the senior forward ahead of Elliot Jackson
(1971-73) and into 24th place on the Scots' career
points list.
Lambuth got a game-high 25 points from Jeremy Weddle, 19
points from Glen Dandridge, 17 from Corey Webster and 10
from Kierren Lovick.
Both
teams shot 50 percent from the field in the league
contest. Lyon scored on 24 of 48 attempts, while Lambuth
made 29 of 58. The Scots held the edge in 3-point
shooting, canning 69 percent to Lambuth's 46 percent.
The
Eagles are now 16-3 overall and 8-2 inside the TranSouth
Conference. The Scots fall to 9-11 and 3-7.
