LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The
Lyon College Scots lost their second straight one-point
game Monday night in a 76-75 non-conference heartbreaker
against Philander Smith.
Lyon (2-3) had a chance
to score the winning bucket in the final seconds, but
came up empty when Trey Salley missed a four-footer and
Matt Owens missed a tip at the buzzer. The loss was the
Scots' second one-point loss in less than a week,
joining a 77-76 loss to John Brown University on Nov.
15.
Levi Taylor scored a
game-high 22 points for the Scots, marking the third
time in the last three games in which the senior forward
has scored 20 or more. Jonathan Donaldson added 15
points and Charles Black scored 12.
