BATESVILLE, Ark. --
A quartet of Lyon College Scots collected double-digit
scoring nights to help the team cash in a 76-70 victory
over Philander Smith College Thursday evening in
nonconference play at Becknell Gym.
Lyon (1-1) was led by
guard Jonathan Donaldson with a team-high 16 points.
Donaldson also
dished out six assists. Donaldson's 16-point tally gives
him 1307 for his career, moving ahead of Danny Daniels
into 15th place on the all-time scoring list.
Forward Levi Taylor added 12
points and Preston Butts accounted for 11 points. Scots' point guard Trey
Salley rounded out the double-digit foursome with 10
points and a game-high seven assists.
The Scots bounced back
from a miserable 37 percent shooting night in their Nov.
5 road opener vs. John Brown University
to hit 32 of 62 (51.6 percent) from the field on
Thursday night. Philander Smith shot 43 percent, scoring
on 25 of 58 chances.

Green topped all scorers with 20 points on 6 of 15 from
the field and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line. Stephen
Murdock added 16 points and Brandon Bealer had 12.
