CONWAY, Ark. – Levi
Taylor matched a career-high with 24 points, but the
Lyon College Scots hit just 37 percent of their
free-throw attempts in a 76-70 defeat Friday evening at
the hands of Central Baptist.
Taylor shot 10 of 21 from the field and grabbed nine
rebounds. The senior forward's 24 points tied a
career-high, last set on Nov. 15, in a home game against
John Brown University.
The
Scots fell behind 38-23 in the first half, but roared
back in the second half on the strength of an 11-2 run
to open the second half. Free throws doomed Lyon to the
loss as the squad hit on just 5 of 16 (31.3 percent)
attempts in the second half and 9 of 24 overall.
CBC
broke a three-game win streak for the Scots, who drop to
5-4 this season.
Lyon
guard Jonathan Donaldson added 17 points and pulled down
six rebounds. Forward Preston Butts scored 10 and had
nine boards.
