Donaldson, Jenkins reach
milestones in win over PSC
Lyon College junior guard Jonathan
Donaldson passed the 1,000 career point mark and Scots'
Head Coach Kevin Jenkins recorded his 150th victory in a
76-66 triumph over the Philander Smith Panthers Monday
evening in a nonconference win at Becknell Gymnasium.
Donaldson scored 15 in the contest,
giving him 1007 for his career and placing him 28th on
the all-time Lyon College scoring list. The junior guard
from Beebe, Ark. also had a career-high 13 rebounds in the win.
Forward Levi Taylor led all Scots with
career-high totals in points (21) and rebounds (15). Point guard Trey Salley of Little
Rock added 13 points and six rebounds and teammate Matt
Owens pitched in seven points and nine boards.
Philander Smith received a game-high 22
points from center Darren Jamison.
Lyon out-rebounded
Philander Smith, 57-35, while holding the Panthers to
just 38 percent shooting from the field.
The Scots improve to 9-5 on the season
and are back in action on Thursday for a TranSouth
Conference tilt with Freed-Hardeman in Henderson, Tenn.
