PULASKI, Tenn. -- Both
teams had an abysmal night from the field, each shooting
below 40 percent, but the Martin Methodist RedHawks got
to the free-throw line more often in a 68-57 win over
the Lyon College Scots on Thursday night.
Martin Methodist shot
just 33.3 percent from the field and Lyon hit for just
37.5 percent, but the RedHawks managed to earn 38 trips
to the line (hitting on 25 free throws) while the Scots
managed just six attempts (scoring on five).
Levi Taylor paced the
Scots (11-15, 2-12) with 16 points and Brandon Thomas
notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Guard Jonathan Donaldson was held scoreless on an 0 for
10 shooting night.
Kirk Newnham and Jacob
McKissack shared game-high scoring honors with 17 points
each. Newnham also pulled down 12 boards.
