The Crichton College Comets pulled a
great escape from Becknell Gymnasium, edging the Lyon
College Scots, 67-63, Monday evening in TranSouth
Conference play.
Jonathan Donaldson led
the Scots in scoring with 23 points. Levi Taylor and
Preston Butts added 12 points apiece.
Stanley Brownlee was
Crichton's leading scorer with 16 points. Jonathan
Bohana added 14 points while DeShawn Danzey and Melvin
Wilkes had 13 each. Danzey also had a game-high 13
rebounds.
Lyon College (11-17
overall, 2-14 in the TranSouth) led 25-24 at the half
and were tied down the stretch drive when Crichton
grabbed the advantage for good on a set of free throws.
Crichton (21-7, 13-3)
topped Lyon in the rebounding department 41-26, but lost
the turnover battle with 23 to the Scots' 16.
