BATESVILLE,
Ark. -- The Lyon College Scots cross-country team swept
the top four spots en route to a first-place finish on
Thursday at the Lyon College Cross Country meet.
Lyon won the
three-team, 8K meet with a total of 21 points, ahead of
second-place Henderson State with 40 points and
third-place University of the Ozarks with 62 points.
Scot runner
Beau Palmer won the meet with a time of 28:28.43,
followed by teammate Daniel Haney in second place with a
time of 28:47.76 and Lyon’s Glenn Ritter in third place
with a time of 30:04.84. Brandon Quam rounded out the
sweep in fourth place with a time of 31:05.77.
Lyon's Josh
Looney also placed 11th with a time of 38:55.52. Alex
Moller ran 13th and ran a time of 40:15.91 and teammate
John Hubbard earned 19th place with a time of 45:56.63.
Women’s Meet
Amy Starnes paced the Lyon College Pipers to a
second-place finish in the women’s division at the Lyon
College Cross Country Meet, finishing seventh with a
time of 23:44.04.
Lyon scored
71 points to finish second behind first-place Henderson
State, who notched 15 points behind a clean sweep of the
first six positions in the race. The University of the
Ozarks finished third with 77 points and Central Baptist
College was fourth with 79 points.
Henderson
State’s Felicia Prince captured the women’s division
individual title with a time of 22:30.13.
Other Lyon
College runners of note in the women’s division were:
Mychelle Gregg in 12th place with a time of
27:30.18; Katee Castleman ran 16th with a
time of 29:15.83; Monica Fuller was a spot behind in 17th
place with a time of 29:52.10; Anelisa Wood placed 19th
with a showing of 30:30.63 and Lauren Fouse finished 22nd
with a time of 33:57.81.
