BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Jeremy Strack and Zach Kohen
combined to drive in five runs and led the William
Jewell Cardinals to an 8-5 victory over the Lyon College
Scots Monday at Scots Field.
The
Scots drop to 11-2 overall. William Jewell improves to
5-3.
Lyon
shortstop Josiah Hass went 2-for-2 with a double, a
stolen base and two RBIs.
Strack led the Cardinals' 13-hit attack finsihing 2 for
5 with three RBIs and a homer. Kohen added a 2-for-5 day
with a two-run shot.
Lyon's Garry Richards (0-1) suffered the loss. The Lyon
hurler pitched 7 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts and
five walks. He allowed nine hits and seven runs.
Jake
Jorn earned the win for WJC and pitched six innings of
nine-hit ball with four walks and four strikeouts.
