TYLER, Tex -- Chad Brock
pitched five strong innings and the Lyon College Scots
scored seven runs over the final four frames to earn an
8-3 triumph over Texas College Sunday on the road.
With the three-game sweep
of Texas College, Lyon improves to 3-0. Texas College
drops to 0-3.
Brock (1-0) allowed just
one hit and struck out five in his five innings on the
mound. He walked only one and did not give up a run.
Sophomore closer Nick Salahub notched his first save of
the year, mowing down five Texas College players on
strikes in 1 2/3 innings.
Offensively, the Scots
picked up 10 hits and four players notched multi-hit
games.
Lyon center fielder Zac
Wallace and third baseman Garry Richards had two hits
and two RBIs apiece. Salahub and catcher Jason Danoff
had two hits and drove in one run each.
