CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- The Southeast Missouri State
Redhawks scored six runs over the first three innings
and six SEMO pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout of
Lyon College Monday in a 6-0 nonconference road game.
The loss drops Lyon to
15-5 this season. SEMO improves to 4-4.
Lyon had six hits,
inclduing two by second baseman Justin Brown.
SEMO junior Justin
Wheeler led his team's 10-hit attack with three-hits,
including two doubles.
Dustin Renfrow started on
the mound for the Redhawks and pitched three innings.
The Redhawks' starter allowed two hits and struck out
three.
James Leigh earned the victory in relief of Renfrow. He
threw two innings, gave up two hits and struck out three
to move to 2-0 this season. Southeast pitchers did not
issue a walk the entire game.
