PULASKI, Tenn. --
Starting pitcher Justin McGarity struck out 13 batters
and the Lyon College Scots rapped out 11 hits in a 6-1
triumph over the Martin Methodist RedHawks Thursday in
TranSouth Conference play.
McGarity (5-1) pitched a
six-hit, nine-inning complete game and walked only two
in the victory.
Lyon improves to 18-8
this season and evens its conference record to 3-3. The
Scots' triumph moves Lyon College Head Coach Kirk Kelly
within 15 wins of 500 career victories.
Martin Methodist drops to
17-11 and 5-4.
Zac Wallace sparked the
Scots' 11-hit barrage with a 3-for-4 day at the plate
with one RBI. Kody Cox had two hits and drove in two
runs.
Jarrett Sellers suffered
the loss for Martin Methodist. He threw eight innings,
allowed 11 hits, walked three and struck out eight.
