HENDERSON, Tenn. --
Justin McGarity picked up his second consecutive
complete game victory and Zac Wallace hit safely in his
10th consecutive game to pace the Lyon College Scots to
a 2-1 victory over the Freed-Hardeman Lions in TranSouth
Conference action.
McGarity (6-1) struck out
13 Lions in nine innings of four-hit ball. The senior
right-hander walked three and allowed only one earned
run for his 25th career victory at Lyon.
Wallace singled once in
three at bats to keep his hitting streak alive and
scored a run. Lyon catcher Drew Kellums went 3-for-4
with two doubles and Garry Richards drove in a run.
The win gives Scots' Head
Coach Kirk Kelley his 487th career victory at the helm
of the Lyon College baseball program.
Lyon moves to 20-10
overall and 5-4 in the TranSouth. Freed-Hardeman falls
to 21-8 and 7-3.
