BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Brian Carr and Nick Salahub combined
on a three-hit shutout to lift the Lyon College Scots to
a 3-0 victory in nonconference play Thursday at Scots
Field.
Carr (2-0) pitched 6 1/3 innings of three-hit ball and
struck out seven while walking one. Salahub pitched the
final two-thirds, struck out one and picked up his
second
save of the season.
The Scots (14-4) won for the second straight time and
are a perfect 3-0 against NCAA squads this season.
Lyon scored twice in the first inning on a pair of
errors and scored again in the second on a Nick D'Amico
sacrifice fly.
Garry Richards doubled and Andy Schatzley singled for
the Scots' only two hits.
The Scots played through sleet and rain to finish game
one, but game two was called with the Scots leading 2-0
due to heavy snowfall.
