MEMPHIS
-- It took two days to complete, but the Crichton
College Comets came out a 12-11 winner over the Lyon
College Scots in a resumed game that took place over
Friday and Saturday.
The two teams battled through 12 1/2 innings on Friday,
with Lyon leading 11-10 in the bottom of the 13th.
However, the game was suspended when heavy fog rolled in
and reduced visibility to dangerous levels.
When the game resumed on Saturday, Crichton scored twice
in the 13th to earn the victory.
Lyon first baseman Drew Kellums socked four hits --
including a homer and a triple -- in seven at-bats and
drove in four runs in defeat. Catcher Jason Danoff
collected two hits (a double and a single) and two RBIs.
Scot closer Nick Salahub pitched 4 1/3 innings of
one-hit relief and struck out eight. Chad Brock (1-1)
suffered the loss, allowing the game winner in a 1/3 of
an inning of work.
