RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. --
Arkansas Tech University broke a three-game losing
streak with a 4-3 victory over the Lyon College Scots
Tuesday in a nonconference game at Tech Field.
Lyon (20-12) loses its
second consecutive game and has lost five of its last
eight. ATU improves to 18-13 overall.
Lyon collected eight hits
as a team and outfielder Zac Wallace continued his
torrid hitting pace. Wallace went 3 for 5 from the
leadoff position and scored a run. Drew Kellums finshed
2 for 4 with an RBI, while teammate Sam Neal had a homer
and two RBIs.
Josh Holloway, Jantzen
Black and Robbie Hohler each had two hits to lead the
Wonder Boys' 10-hit barrage.
Lyon pulled within
4-3 thanks to a two-run homer in the eighth by Sam Neal.
Matt Creamer (1-1) took
the loss and pitched six innings of eight-hit ball.
Creamer struck out one and walked two.
ATU's Tyler Mattox (2-1)
earned the win in two shutout innings of work. He walked
one and allowed three hits.
