Andrea
Higginbottom and Eri Kasai combined to collect three
wins for the Lyon College Pipers tennis team,
but the Lambuth Lady Eagles took a clean sweep of the
six other matches in a 6-3 decision Friday at Lyon
College.
Higginbottom
won her singles match 6-2, 6-0, and Kasai took her
singles meeting with her Lambuth opponent. The pair then
teamed up to record a 6-2, 6-0 doubles victory.
In other
singles play: Jennifer Wagoner lost 6-1, 6-0; Ran
Tsurumaki lost 7-5, 6-1 and Alison Sablick was defeated
6-1, 6-1.
Wagoner and
Tsurumaki lost the other doubles match, 8-0.
In men's
play, Daniel Angel's 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in singles and
Justin Dill's 6-3, 6-1 triumph in singles were the only
bright spots in a 7-2 loss to the Eagles.
Matt Petty,
Adam Robertson, Juan Daza and Cody Cox all suffered
singles losses. The Scots were swept in doubles play as
Petty and Robertson, Daza and Angel and Dill and Knight
all were defeated.
